REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS

Republic Day Celebrations were held in Pre School and Pre Primary classes from 23rd January to 25th January 2024 with the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the rich cultural diversity of our country. Each student chose to represent a particular state by wearing its dress and by saying a few lines about the things that are exclusive it. The celebration was a true testament to the school’s commitment to preserve and promote India’s cultural heritage.

REMEMBERING THE MAHATMA
Pre School

‘Remembering the Mahatma’ Activity was conducted in Pre School on 29th September, 2023 to commemorate the life and teachings of Gandhiji. Children were made aware about Gandhiji and his beliefs through craft activities in which the children made charkhas with the help of ice cream sticks, match sticks and thread. This activity highlighted the idea of being independent and self-reliant as taught by Gandhiji.

‘Remembering the Mahatma’ Activity was conducted in Pre Primary on 29th September 2023 to the life and teachings of Gandhiji. The children of Pre-Primary classes came dressed up as Gandhiji and spoke a few lines
on him and narrated some instances of his life. A PPT on his life was also shown to the children. The activity
was conducted with the aim of uplifting the values and ideas of Gandhiji among the children.

TELL-A-TALE STORY TELLING WEEK

Story is the most powerful way to engage with the young minds and to nurture creativity in them. Tell-a-Tale Storytelling Week was conducted from 18th September to 22nd September 2023 in the Pre Primary classes.
Children prepared wonderful stories and presented them with the aid of props like finger puppets, picture cut-
outs, flashcards, etc. Appropriate use of voice modulation and facial expressions infused enthusiasm and imagi-
nation in the already engaging session. It was an interactive session which promoted creative thinking and communication skills in the learners.

Tell-a-Tale Activity was conducted in Pre School on 22nd September 2023. A selected story was narrated to the class. After the narration, the children were encouraged to retell the story in their own words, fostering creativity and comprehension. The children were also asked a series of questions related to the story, promoting critical thinking and engagement. The activity provided an opportunity for the children to enhance their listening and speaking skills. It was an engaging and educational experience for them, enhancing both language development and cognitive skills.

RECYCLED ART EXHIBITION

Recycled Art Exhibition was held on 12 th September, 2023 in Pre School and Pre Primary classes. The children were given the task of creating art and craft projects using waste materials, with a focus on plastic, and also incorporating used papers, cardboard, wood, metals and rubber. The students made a variety of things that demonstrated their artistic skills and at the same time, highlighted the importance of sustainability and recycling. The projects were displayed in classroom to remind us of the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

PAPER BAG DECORATION ACTIVITY

Paper Bag Decoration Activity was conducted in Pre School and Pre Primary on 6th September, 2023. This activity encouraged children to express their creativity, enhance their fine motor skills and promote environmental awareness through the reuse of paper bags. The children were asked to bring a plain paper bag on which they made some wonderful patterns and designs using the decorative materials provided to them. The activity aimed at making the children aware of the ways to make Mother Earth plastic free.

Show and Tell Activity was conducted in Pre School from 1st August to 4th August, 2023 on the topic ‘Freedom Fighters of India’. Students dressed up as freedom fighters and spoke about the life and journey of our brave fighters with the help of props. This activity provided an opportunity to all the children to showcase their talent of speaking and acting.

Show and Tell Activity was conducted in Pre Primary on 4th August 2023 on the theme, ‘Indian Historical Monuments’. Children learnt and spoke a few lines on a monument of their choice with the help of picture-cutouts and flashcards. The activity aimed at promoting a sense of national pride in the learners and making them aware of the rich cultural heritage of our country.

SMALL WONDER TALENT SHOW

Small Wonder Talent Show was held in Pre School and Pre Primary classes on 29th August 2023. In Pre Primary, the theme of the show was ‘The World of Fairytales’. The children came dressed up as their favourite story character and exhibited their talents through the medium of story narration, dance and song. In Pre School, the children participated through different forms of expressions such as dance, song, poem recitation and role play. This activity provided a platform for each child to perform in their chosen area of talent and exhibit their skills with confidence and enthusiasm.

Paper Folding Craft Activity was conducted in Pre School and Pre Primary classes on 22nd August 2023. The children explored the fantastic craft of paper folding using origami sheets and made birds and animals. This activity helped stimulate their imagination, improve spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination and concentration.

SMART CHEF ACTIVITY

Smart Chef Activity was conducted in Pre School and Pre Primary on 18th of August, 2023. The children turned into chefs and enthusiastically made vegetable cheese sandwiches by following stepwise instructions given by their class teacher. The children learned yet another life skill of culinary art and became aware of the importance of eating healthy and nutritious food.

The students of Pre School and Pre Primary participated in Patriotic Song Presentation to honour the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. The songs selected for the presentation highlighted themes of patriotism, unity and love for the nation. The children participated enthusiastically and sang with patriotic fervour and zeal.

TABLE MANNERS ACTIVITY

Table Manners Activity was conducted in Pre School on 25 th July 2023 and in Pre Primary from 24 th July
2023 to 28 th July 2023. The students were taught basic table etiquettes like correct posture of sitting, use of table napkin, use of spoon and fork and were encouraged to follow them while having their meals. They were shown videos and PPTs to inculcate good eating habits such as washing hands before and after meals, chewing food properly and not to use mobile while eating. They were encouraged to bring a range of wholesome food every day in their tiffin. The activity was a very good learning experience for the young minds. It helped in the holistic development of each child by developing their social and self-management skills.

HEALTHY TIFFIN WEEK (04.07.23 – 07.07.23)

Students of Pre School and Pre Primary participated in Healthy Tiffin Week from 4th July to 7th July, 2023. Students were instructed to carry nutritious food such as  upma, poha, idli, stuffed paratha, vegetable pulav, paneer uttapam, fruits and vegetable sandwiches in their tiffin boxes.

This exercise encouraged them to develop healthy eating habits and develop a positive relationship with food.

VEGETABLE PRINTING ACTIVITY

Vegetable Printing Activity was conducted in all the classes of Pre School and Pre Primary on 21 st July 2023. The children dipped cut vegetables such as lady finger, bitter gourd and onion into paint and made beautiful bookmarks. This activity helped them to strengthen the small muscles in their hands and improve their hand- eye coordination.

The Pre School children participated in Clay modelling activity on 18.04.2023. They were thrilled to play with clay dough. The teacher demonstrated the clay model and the children followed the instructions. They made colourful smiley faces. It was easy yet extremely stimulating and beneficial for child’s imagination, creativity and fine motor skills.

Know Your School Week Activity was conducted in Pre School and Pre Primary classes from 10.04.2023 to 13.04.2023. The children were taken around the school premises and shown different areas like the school garden, the playground, the play-station and the canteen. The purpose of this activity was to make the children aware of their school and the activities that take place within it. Exploring the school was an exciting experience for the children.

EARTH DAY

Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection and to raise awareness about environmental issues.

To make the students aware of the importance of preserving the planet and creating environmental consciousness amongst the children, various activities were conducted in all the classes.

Pre School children were shown a video and a PPT to help them understand the importance of saving the environment. The children participated in a painting activity by dipping their hands in green paint and
imprinting their palms on Earth cut outs.

The children of Pre-Primary classes learnt about the three Rs: Recycle, Reuse and Reduce through fun and educational activities. They were made aware of ways to promote energy conservation and about segregation of waste into dry waste and wet waste. They participated in a colouring activity and made ‘I Love Earth’ headbands.

SESSION 2022-23

RECREATIONAL RACES

Recreational races were organised for the children of Pre Primary on 24.11.22. They balanced bean bags on their heads and hopped over ladders and hurdles as they ran from the starting point to the finish line. It developed their concentration and balancing ability. The students learnt how to run, hop, skip and jump and the activity helped to develop balance and agility through an enjoyable team activity.

FANCY DRESS

Fancy dress activity was organized for the children of class Pre Primary on 9.11.22. The children came dressed up as different fictional characters and used various props to enthusiastically describe the person they represented. The activity aimed at widening the knowledge of students with respect to story book characters, helping them to use their imagination to tell their stories and to build vocabulary and communication skills. It was an enriching and very enjoyable experience for the children.

REMEMBERING THE MAHATMA

The activity ‘Remembering the Mahatma’ was conducted on 30.9.22 for the children of Pre
School and Pre-Primary to teach them about Mahatma Gandhi and celebrate his 150th birth
anniversary. Children dressed up as Mahatma Gandhi and told stories about his life. They
learnt about and talked of Gandhiji’s thoughts on Peace, Non-Violence, Truth, Swachh
Bharat and Swadeshi-Make in India. A PPT and video depicting important episodes of his
life were shown to the students. The importance of truth, non-violence, peace, cleanliness and
the need to protect the environment were emphasized through classroom activities.

Independence Day was celebrated by Pre School and Pre Primary Classes with great enthusiasm and fervour. On 12th August 2022, the students of each section presented patriotic songs in praise of their motherland.

SMART CHEF ACTIVITY

Smart Chef Activity was conducted in Pre School and Pre-Primary Classes on 23rd August 2022.

Children brought different food ingredients like chopped cucumber, bell peppers, tomatoes, pomegranate seeds, pizza-pasta sauce, nachos, etc. and followed the instructions given to prepare lip-smacking Nacho Chaat.

This Cooking-Without-Fire Activity was an enjoyable learning activity. It helped to enhance the vocabulary of the children simultaneously developing their motor skills. It also motivated children to eat vegetables and develop healthy eating habits.

Little Hands At Work Activity was organized for Pre School and Pre Primary students from 11th July to 15th July 2022. During this activity children learned how to make photo frames using ice-cream sticks, cardboard, sliver foil paper and coloured tape. Each student pasted his/her family photograph in the photo frame made by them. Children of Pre Primary also decorated their photo frames with decorative material.

This activity helped them develop their fine motor skills and creativity.

Colour Splash activity was conducted in Pre School and Pre Primary on 13.05.2022. The students of Pre School made a tree with palm printing and the students of Pre Primary made beautiful and colourful cards with cotton bud dabbing. These activities helped in enhancing the motor skills of the children in which they enthusiastically participated and enjoyed.

CLAY MODELLING

Clay Modelling Activity was conducted in Pre-Primary on 22.04.2022. The children made a model of a caterpillar with clay dough. The activity aimed at enhancing the motor skills and developing the imagination and creativity in the children.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS (22nd April, 2022)

Pre School and Pre Primary celebrated Earth Day on 22nd April 2022. Videos on ‘Save the Earth’ were shown to the children to make them aware of protecting the earth. Children of Pre School prepared headgear and badges while the children of Pre Primary coloured the cut-outs of the Earth and made a plant with the cut-outs of Earth, flowers and leaves.

Healthy Tiffin Week from 5th July-8th July 2022

Healthy Tiffin Week was organised in Pre School and Pre Primary from 4th July 2022 to 8th July 2022. The students were encouraged to bring healthy tiffin such as upma, poha, idli and vegetable sandwiches.

This activity aimed at inculcating good eating habits among children and to motivate them to eat a balanced diet and say no to junk food.

Show and Tell- My Favourite Means of Transport

Show and Tell Activity was conducted in Pre-Primary classes from 9.11.2020 to 13.11.2020 on the topic, ‘My Favourite Means of Transport’. Children used actual props like bicycles or toys, models and picture cut-outs of cars, aeroplanes or motor cycles and spoke about why this was their favourite means of transport. They were able to identify and describe different modes of transport. The activity helped to build confidence and enhance their speaking skills and vocabulary.

Independence Day Celebration

Independence Day was celebrated by the students through online programmes held between 10th to 14th August 2020 in all the Pre-Primary classes. With great zeal and enthusiasm children presented songs, dances, and shared thoughts on patriotism while they enacted the roles of various freedom fighters. It was a wonderful learning experience for the little ones.

EAT HEALTHY

A week-long activity “Eat Healthy” was conducted for the students of Pre-Primary from 31-08-2020 to 04-09-2020. The students used the food items as show-and tell props or donned costumes depicting various fruits and vegetables. The students described their favourite fruit/vegetable and the importance of including them in their diet to stay healthy.

ROLE PLAY – PEOPLE WHO HELP US

Students of Pre-Primary participated in Role Play Activity from 21.09.2020- 25.09.2020 on the topic, People who Help Us. Children dressed up as community helpers such as doctors, chefs, policemen and soldiers and spoke about the duties these members performed in service to society. The activity gave students the opportunity to demonstrate their communication skills. They showed confidence and creativity in performing the activity.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAMME

An online Christmas programme was conducted for the students of Pre-Primary classes on 18.12.2020. The programme began with a short assembly followed by short skit on the Nativity. The children of Pre Primary dressed up according to their characters and played their roles confidently. Children enjoyed singing carols. The significance of Christmas was explained to the children through the narration of the Christmas story.

Patriotic Song Presentation

The students of Pre Primary participated in Patriotic Song Presentation on 14th August 2019. The children sang the songs with great enthusiasm and pride and learnt about the significance of celebrating Independence Day.

VEGETABLE PRINTING

Vegetable Printing Activity was conducted on 30th July, 2019 in all the classes of Pre Primary. It was a fun activity in which children stamped the design of an owl on paper using potato and paint. This activity encouraged children to use their imagination and creativity.

LITTLE HANDS AT WORK ACTIVITY

Fun activity ‘Little Hands At Work’ was conducted for the children of Pre School on 15th July, 2019. The children decorated paper plates to make roosters. They made an an impression with their little hands on a sheet of paper to make its red comb and added details to its face by thumb printing and pasting paper cut-outs. The activity aimed at enhancing creativity and improving fine motor skills.

LITTLE HANDS AT WORK

Little Hands at Work Activity was conducted on 15.07.19 for the children of Pre Primary. They made beautiful cards with floral designs by pasting colourful buttons on the paper. The activity aimed at fostering creativity and fine motor skills among the children.

TABLE MANNERS/ HEALTHY TIFFIN WEEK

Table Manners/Healthy Tiffin Week (8.07.19-12.07.19) was organized for the children of Pre Primary. The children were taught about table manners like the use of spoon, table mat, napkin, etc. and also to wash hands before and after eating food. They were also encouraged to bring a variety of nutritious food everyday. The activity aimed at inculcating healthy eating habits among children.

Earth Day Activity

Earth Day Activity for the children of Pre Primary was conducted on 22th April, 2019. Children were made aware about the environment and how they can help to save our planet Earth. They participated in activities like making Earth collage by paper pasting and finger printing was a fun way that helped in developing children’s hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Session 2018-19

SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY

The students of Pre Primary classes participated in a Show and Tell Activity on 23.7.18.The children spoke about the ‘Sea World’ in simple sentences. The purpose of this activity was to help children express themselves confidently and use vocabulary connected to water and sea creatures appropriately.

Show and Tell Activity was organized for the children of Pre School on 23th July 2018. The topic for this activity was Sea World. Children brought pictures and toys of their favourite aquatic animals and were encouraged to speak a few sentences about them. The activity encouraged the students to speak confidently.

PAPER BAG DESIGNING

The students of Pre Primary Classes participated in Paper Bag Designing Activity on 13th July 2018. The children were asked to bring a paper bag made of white chart paper from home. They made designs on the bags using water colours and vegetable printing technique.

BEST OUT OF WASTE

Best Out of Waste Activity was conducted for the students of Pre School on Friday, the 13th of July 2018.The students decorated old CDs with paper cut-outs of different animals like elephant, rabbit and fish. The activity was an effective and enjoyable way to combine a craft lesson with general knowledge as well as teach children about the reuse of waste material.

CLAY MODELLING

Clay Modelling Activity was conducted in Pre-Primary on 22.04.2022. The children made a model of a caterpillar with clay dough. The activity aimed at enhancing the motor skills and developing the imagination and creativity in the children.

COLOUR SPLASH

Colour Splash Activity was conducted for the students of Pre School on 27.4.18. The students made hand impressions with paint and used it to create a friendship tree. This activity aimed at integrating the learning of colour identification with developing fine motor skills.

TABLE MANNERS WEEK

Table Manners Week was organized for the students of Pre School from 23.4.18 to 27.4.18. The students were taught basic table manners. They learnt to use a spoon, a table-mat and a cloth napkin while eating food. Learning and practising dining table etiquettes was an enjoyable experience for the children.

Earth Day

Earth Day was celebrated in the Pre Primary classes on 20th April, 2018 .The children participated inactivities such as palm printing using green and blue watercolours on cut-outs of a circle representing the earth.

This activity was to make the children aware about the protection and conservation of natural resources and our responsibility towards this. They were also told about recycling of items.

Earth Day

The Earth Day Activity was conducted for the students of Pre-School on 20th April, 2018. The concept of celebrating Earth Day was explained to the children. They participated in a collage making activity titled ‘Lights Out’ and learnt to switch off the lights when not needed. The activity aimed at promoting awareness about Earth amongst the children and ways to restore its resources.

NATURE WALK AND GARDENING

Nature Walk and Gardening Activity was conducted for the students of the Pre Primary class on 18.4.18. The children were taken for a nature walk around the school. The school garden was shown to them.

The purpose of this activity was to let the children enjoy and appreciate the wonders of the natural environment. It also gave them the opportunity to connect with nature. The children thoroughly enjoyed this activity.

Nature Walk

The students of Pre-School participated in a ‘Nature Walk’ on 13.4.18.They were taken around the school gardens and were shown the various plants, flowers and trees. This activity introduced students to the beauty of nature around them.

Know Your School Week

Know Your School Week activity was conducted in Pre-School from 9.4.18 to 13.4.18. Students were taken on a tour of the school and visited the school garden, the play station, the playground, the reception and the activity area. The purpose of this activity was to familiarize the children with different areas of the school.

Session 2017-18

Sense Booth

A Sense Booth was created for the students of the Pre-Primary class on 18th September 2017. Separate booths were made to explain each of the five senses, hearing, taste, sight, smell and touch. Different objects related to each sense were placed on the tables to make the children identify the different sense organs and the work done by them. Children moved from one booth to the other as the teachers explained about each sense organ and the children participated in simple activities. This helped the children to correlate the senses with their sense organs in everyday life.

WORD COLLAGE

Word Collage Activity was conducted for the students of Pre Primary on 18 August 2017 to familiarize children with words that have ‘a’, ‘e’ and ‘i’ sounds. The children were given word outlines, fluorescent sheets and glue. They were then asked to tear those sheets into small pieces and paste them within the outlines of the words such as CAT,JET, FIG, etc. The children enjoyed this activity.

Healthy Tiffin Week

To inculcate healthy eating habits, the students of Pre Primary observed the Healthy Tiffin Week from 11th to 15th September 2017.

The children were asked to bring healthy food each day throughout the week. They brought food items such as parathas with green vegetables, pulao, salad, fruits, upma, poha, idli and dosa. Children enjoyed eating a variety of food. They were taught about the importance of eating healthy food and how it keeps them fit and energetic.

Little Chefs at Work

Little Chefs at Work Activity was conducted by the students of Pre Primary on 27.9.17 to introduce children to the process of food preparation. To teach children how various tasty dishes are made from different things, they were asked to bring chopped onions, tomatoes, cucumber, puffed rice, peanuts and lemons. The children were then asked to mix them in a bowl and make Bhel-puri. They enjoyed eating the Bhel-puri and were pleasantly surprised to see how easily such a tasty and colorful dish could be made with the simple food items they had brought.

KNOW YOUR SCHOOL

Know Your School activity was organized for the students of Pre School from 10.04.17 to 12.04.17.The children were taken around the school and shown different rooms like the school reception, the garden, the Art room, the Music room, the library and the canteen.

The purpose of this activity was to make children aware of their school and the activities that take place within the campus. Exploring the school was an interesting and enjoyable experience for the children.

Earth Day Activity

Earth Day activity was organized for the students of Pre School on 21.04.17. Children used the hand printing technique to paint pictures of trees. The teachers explained the significance of trees in our lives. Through this activity, the children learnt about the importance of trees in our environment in an enjoyable manner.

All About Me

‘All About Me’ activity was conducted for the Pre-Primary students on 10th July 2017. Children were given small booklets in which they pasted their photographs. They also pasted the photographs of their favourite fruit, colour, cartoon, season, dress, etc. They enjoyed sharing their personal information with their classmates.

Fun With Shapes

Fun with Shapes activity was held on 13th July 2017 for the students of Pre School. They were given cut outs of different shapes like circle, square, rectangle, and triangle. They identified these shapes and learnt to make a cat with them. This activity helped them to recognise shapes and use them creatively.

Patriotic Song Presentation

To celebrate 70 years of Independence, students and staff of the Pre-School celebrated the Independence Day with a Patriotic Song Presentation on 11th August 2017. Students from each class sang melodious, patriotic songs with some children dressed up as freedom fighters. The students enjoyed the programme.

To instill the value of patriotism and respect for our country from an early age, Independence Day was observed with great fervor through enjoyable activities by the students of the Pre Primary classes. The children sang patriotic songs and recited poems. Some students also came dressed up as eminent freedom fighters of our country and spoke briefly about these leaders

POTTERY MAKING

Pottery is the craft of making pots or pottery using clay that is moulded, dried and made into decorative objects. Pottery Making activity was organised for the students of Pre School on 25th August 2017. A potter was invited to school. He used his creative skills to create pots, dishes, mugs and vases. The children were very excited when they saw the potter at the potter’s wheel and all of them wanted to get their hands dirty in the clay. A few of them got a chance to mould the clay and make a few pottery items. It was a learning experience for the children. They enjoyed the activity
