The Investiture Ceremony of the Student Council 2020-21 was held on 11th November 2020 in virtual mode over Microsoft Teams. It was attended by students of Class XII, teachers of the school and parents of the Council Members.
The programme commenced with a short assembly. A video was screened of the western music choir performing a beautiful rendition of the song, ‘Together We Can Change the World’. It received much appreciation.
The Investiture Ceremony began with lighting of candles by the Principal, Ms. Esther Mani, in school, and the members of the newly elected Student Council in their homes.
The Principal, Ms. Esther Mani, administered the oath of office to the Head Boy, Aniket Warrier, and the Head Girl, Nehel Mendiratta.
The Vice Principal, Dr. Pratima M. Lall administered the oath of office to the Captain for Cultural Activities, Anshika Sharma and Sports Captain, Shourya Yashbir Mohan.
The House Captains were administered the oath of office by their respective House Coordinators: Akbar House Captain, Muskan Joshi by Mr Deepak Sharma;
Ashoka House Captain, Shreya Bhogal by Mrs Alka Jain;
Gandhi House Captain, Manasvi Kapoor by Mr Priyank Kumar Singhal;
Tagore House Captain, Nandini Jhamb by Mrs Nisha Sharma.
The ceremony was made more special with the presence of parents who conferred the badges and sashes on the elected students on behalf of the school.
Abraham Solomon Jacob of XI E recited the poem ‘If’ by Rudyard Kipling, to motivate the newly appointed members of the Student Council and to urge them to use their time wisely, ‘fill(ing) the unforgiving minute with sixty seconds’ worth of distance run’.
The Head Boy and the Head Girl thanked the audience for giving them the honour to lead the student body and promised to do their best in carrying out the responsibility.
The Principal addressed the members of the Student Council and urged them to shine as lights in their areas of influence.
The ceremony concluded with an instrumental version of the School Song played on the keyboard by Zuhair Ahmad, X D.
