The Inter-School Science Competition, Scintillations’, was organized on 23rdAugust 2019. Students from six schools of the NCR region participated enthusiastically in a Turn Coat Debate on the motion: ‘The compelling frontier for exploration is the ocean and not space’. Six schools from East Delhi took part in the competition. The event was judged by eminent persons in the field of science, Dr. A.K. Sinha, Retired Senior Scientist of DRDO, Mr. Srinivasan Ramachandran, Senior Principal Scientist at the Institute of Genomics and Integrated Biology and Wing Commander Satyam Kushwaha. The debate was won by Manasvi Kapoor XI D and Harleen Kaur, XI D the team from Somerville School, Vasundhara Enclave. Being the host school, the winning trophy was awarded to the next highest scorer, the team from Somerville School, Noida. The First Runner-up position was won by Vishwa Bharati Public School, Noida and the team from Bal Bharati Public School, Noida took home the Second Runner-up trophy. The Judges shared valuable insights with the audience and motivated the students to seek scientific knowledge beyond their text books.
